Linking Workplace Enrollment and Company Hub App. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there any unique id which can be used to link the work place enrollment and the company hub app.?

Currently, in order to register the company hub app, a separate app enrollment needs to be handled. If there is a unique id which can be retrieved from both the workplace and the company hub app after being installed on  a users device then the app enrollment process can be completely automated.

Need to know if there is any unique id which when retrieved from both company hub and workplace give the same value ?

  • If you're working with Windows Phone 8 then an MDM server can query PublisherDeviceId of the DMClient CSP.

This value should match the "DeviceUniqueId" from DeviceExtendedProperties Class , as retrieved by the company hub app, that is signed with the same certificate used to create the Application Enrollment Token (AET) and is pushed to the device during enrollment.

NOTE: This is only useful for Windows Phone Silverlight framework applications. Windows Phone 8.1 Runtime framework does not expose any API that provides this same publisher unique value, but currently the company hub is limited to Silverlight app framework.
