extending 834 5010 schema REF_MemberSupplementalIdentifier\REF01_ReferenceIdentificationQualifier is causing EDI erors RRS feed

  • Hi ,I extended above qualifier by adding a new value 18 in the enumeration in Biztalk 2009 EDI 834 schema.

    I am getting the following error while processing 834 file.

    Error: 1 (Miscellaneous error)
        5: X12_00501_834\TS834_2000_Loop\ The element 'TS834_2000_Loop' in namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/BizTalk/EDI/X12/2006'

  • So, it's correct that you are getting an error.  18 is not a valid REF01 value, period.

    In other words, there is no legitimate reason to modify the enumeration.  You trading partner cannot ask you to do this since it will make it a non-compliant HIPAA message.

    Why are you trying even trying to do this?

    I know this probably isn't the help you were looking for, the but solution is to not try and change it in the first place.
