WACK test RRS feed

  • Question

  • Our company develops firewall driver (implemented as NDIS minifilter) and on-access antivirus driver.

What are the advantages of passing this test?

Will the product work properly on the windows 8 without passing these tests?

  • Assuming you are referring to the Windows APP Certification Kit, then if you software has user space components this is a good thing to use.  It is another set of tests to ensure your product is working well.  For the most part if you use Application Verifier then WACK should work except for possibly things involving how the application is installed and similar checks.  Even there, most customers will notice if you act differently than the standard, even if they can't appreciated things when you follow the standards.
