Windows 10 IoT core support for element14 Wi-Pi dongo RRS feed

  • Question

  • I purchased a Wi-Pi from element14 to work with my Raspberry Pi 2 running Windows 10 IoT core (https://ms-iot.github.io/content/en-US/win10/SetupWiFi.htm) which supports the Office Raspberry Pi WiFi dongo (http://swag.raspberrypi.org/collections/frontpage/products/official-raspberry-pi-Wifi-dongle). element14 is one of the official global supplier for Raspberry Pi 2.

This dongo works with the normal Raspberry Pi Linux distribution but does not work with the Windows 10 IoT core. I am running the current Windows10 IoT core 10240 release (https://ms-iot.github.io/content/en-US/win10/ReleaseNotesRTM.htm) which supports the official Raspberry Pi WiFi dongo.

The USB WiFi dongo is not even shown as available in the OS. So it looks like the element14 offical Wi-Pi is not the real deal. Their spec sheet does not say whether the dongo uses the Broadcom BCM43143 chipset and their technical support couldn't answer the question neither. So I don't know what chipset it is actually using.

Is there any plan to support the element14 Wi-Pi dongo or is there a way to load a driver into Windows 10 IoT for the dongo?
