How to read a Raw File RRS feed

  • Hello,

    I have Package with ABC.raw file as source.A varaible is create to say where exactly that ABC.raw is located.In that package I can open that source and see there are 20 columns and I am not sure where they are coming from.

    Now I want to open that ABC.raw  in its location ,where it is stored and I am unable to open and see exactly what mapping has been to get the columns which are used as source in my package.

    How to open that ABC.raw file

    Can someone help me with this.

  • The RAW file format is proprietary to SSIS. you can ONLY open it from inside an SSIS Package. The only REAL way to view the contents is to put in a Data Viewer in the pipeline. There is no Preview button like you have with other Source Connections.

    Where did this RAW file come from? Must have been some other SSIS package that created it using a RAW File Destination and naming it "ABC.raw"!
