dll framework 1.1 different results in 3.5 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I am having the following problem:

We are migrating VS2003 to VS2008 (framework 1.1 to 3.5).
In one of the applications we are migrating, several dll's are used but we don't have the sourcecode.

In a method of one of the dll's a username and password are used to generate a hashed password. This is build in VS2003. When I migrate the application to 3.5, the hash is calculated differently. This means that the users cannot log on to the website.

Is there any way I can use the 1.1 framework for this dll?
This would be temporarily so I can re-calculate the hash using 3.5, once a user has logged on.

    Thanks,

    Heisa

  • No, there can only be one version of the CLR and the corresponding core framework assemblies loaded per process. If you want want to use a different runtime for a specific assembly you have to run it in a separate process

  • thanks for the quick reply.

To attach to the separate process, do I have to use remoting?

*** Already solved... I built a simple webservice to retrive the password... ***
