Open SkyDrive using FileOpenPicker or FileSavePicker RRS feed

  • Question

  • FileOpenPicker openPicker = new FileOpenPicker();
    openPicker.SuggestedStartLocation = PickerLocationId.PicturesLibrary;
    Is it possible to set suggested start location as SkyDrive app ?

    Is there any 3rd party SkyDrive file picker available ?

  • No, you cannot suggest SkyDrive as a start location

  • Why do you want to limit this to SkyDrive? Why not let the user choose where to open and save the files?

    As Andrei says, if you want to force SkyDrive then you will need to create your own dialog using the SkyDrive API (discussion on the Live Connect forum).

  • If your intension is to limit user to SkyDrive only than you probably need to create your own open dialog (and it is not nessesary to mimic system picker). Otherwise let user to chose where to store files, local computer, SkyDrive or may be other cloud storage.

  • Hi Rob, actually my app has scope of limiting file picking and saving to only SkyDrive. Anyway, I will make my own dialog.

    As for me, because I need to share files programmatically providing links to files located in OneDrive. Therefore, the app must show files to choose from OneDrive only. But OneDrive file picker for web apps didn't ported for store apps :( Therefore, we need to develop our own OneDrive file picker :((
