VM monitoring - no available data RRS feed

  • Question

  • On the new azure portal I cannot access the monitoring data (CPU, Memory, ...) for my virtual machines.

Before all I precise that yes "Monitoring diagnostics status" is on and yes the "storage account" is set up.

When I change the time period to 7 days I can observe that values were stored but now not anymore.

Thank you by advance for your advises ..!

Edit: It seems to be a specific problem to my Linux virtual machines

Edit 2: In the extensions of the VM the "Microsoft.Insights.VMDiagnosticsSettings" contain the following error "Error: EnumerateInstances failed"

  • Hello Kamalakar,

    Thanks for your support.

Unfortunately, the link you mentioned was for classic VM not Azure Resource VM which is my case.

I tried different things like re-installing the waagent from my Ubuntu LTS 14.04 VM but nothing change even after I rebooted. I still don't have the values in the monitoring tile from Azure portal.

I also see that another service named cloud-init is mentioned on some post I've read. I am not sure how those two programs work together and with the Azure cloud platform.

Any details about the correct configuration to have for this version of Ubuntu is welcome !

    Thank you very much.

    Regards,

    Antowan
