Try to build in 64 bits : RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have an application that works fine in 32 bits (build on a Win7 64 bits + MS Visual Studio 2010). But when I try to compile it in 64 bits I got the following message in a dialog box :

"the application was unable to start correctly"

Then the application exit ! Do you have an idea to fix it ?

  • Almost certainly it is attempting to load a 32 bit DLL at startup.  Because 64 bit processes cannot load 32 bit DLLs, the process won't be able to start up.  You might try using the DEPENDS utility to figure out which DLLs are needed and make sure they are all 64 bit.
