Developer license won't renew

    Question

  • This morning when I tried to run the Metro app I'm working on, Visual Studio 11 decided it needed to renew my developer license. Unfortunately, it just errors every time I try. Which leaves me dead-in-the-water as far as working on our app. I'm attaching the event log entry based on other forum posts with similar (but not the same) problem:

  • Based on other, similar, threads. I just tried logging in under a different account w/admin privileges, ran Show-WindowsDeveloperLicenseRegistration & tried using a different MSDN account. I got the same error.

  • It's hardly a solution, but for anyone with the same issue I "solved" it by wiping and reinstalling Windows.

  • I had the same problem this morning, it renewed my license though once I'd:-

    • exited VS
    • restarted Windows
    • launched vs
    • reloaded my app

Once i'd reloaded the app it prompted me for a new license and asked me to login to my live account. Happy days!
