Are we likely to see dig (the DNS troubleshooting tool) added to Windows at any point? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Windows has been stuck with nslookup while other operating systems have been using dig for a while now. nslookup has some fairly significant flaws; will Microsoft consider adding dig to the Windows command line repertoire?

  • Hello brian310207,

There has not been any information released about Dig in regards to Windows Developer Preview. I suggest you check this out in the next release of the Windows Developer Preview.

    Thanks,

Since dig is part of BIND the chances of seeing it any version of Windows
    are slim to none.

Besides which there are already ports of dig for Windows:
