errorCode=80073d01 Metro apps

    Question

  • Whenever I try to open any metro app the following error comes up:

    ms-windows-store:PDP?PFN=microsoft.weather_8wekyb3d8bbwe&errorCode=80073d01
    Call was canceled by the message filter

    Then nothing happens but a black screen and return to the start screen

    My laptop resolution is 1280x800

  • Hello,

    Since the same behavior occurs in different user accounts, I think you should try a Refresh your PC operation.  To do that, from the Metro UI, click Control Panel, choose General from the left pane, then click Get started under Refresh you PC without affecting any files, then click Next and follow the prompts.

    Keep in mind that your files and personalizations won't change, your PC settings will be restored to their defaults, and you will have to install any applications that you have installed.

  • Hi Oliver182,

    My suggestion is that you try creating a new user account, then see if the same behavior occurs while logged on under that new account.  Reply with results.

    Regards,

    Gary
