Is it possible to add a MenuStrip to a WPF application? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm working in Visual Studio 2010 (Beta 2).  I can't find menustrip in the toolbox (I opened "All WPF Controls" in the toolbox.  I've done it in the past with a "Forms" application in 2008.  Is this changed to a different command or process in 2010?  Is it not possible in WPF?  Or am I just being the ultimate newbie and missing it?  Thanks for any help.

  • Hi PhilKnox,

Firstly, the System.Windows.Forms.MenuStrip is a WinForm control. In WPF, we use System.Windows.Controls.Menu control.

The System.Windows.Controls.Menu is available under the "All WPF Controls" tab in the Toolbox in both Visual Studio 2008 and Visual Studio 2010 Beta2.

    Hope this helps.
