How do search for a date or date range using the search charm?

Have I overlooked this or can you only search for text using the search charm?

I would also like to provide the user with a way to search for date and date ranges.

You have the local and text that the user entered so you can certainly implement searching for dates in your application.  Is there a standard for the format of such a search?  No, I am not aware of any.  I also am not aware of any Metro apps that currently have special handling of dates or try and detect if the text being searched for is a date.

So in theory we could display a date picker control in the suggestion box that the search charms is allowing us to full with suggestion items?
