Active X for WebServer RRS feed

  • Question

  • I created an active x named MyActiveX.ocx.  It's statically linked to MyLib.dll  I packaged them both into a cab file with an Inf file.  It tried to down load it through a web page using

    <OBJECT classid="clsid:563BBD7C-8BCC-4CED-8372-11A46137BBA2" name="printer"   CODEBASE="MyActiveX.CAB">
    </OBJECT>

    But it didn't work.  The inf file contains the following

    [version]
    signature="$CHICAGO$"
    AdvancedINF=2.0

    [Add.Code]
    MyActiveX.ocx=MyActiveX.ocx
    MyLib.dll=MyLib.dll

    ; needed ocx
    [MyActiveX.ocx]
    file-win32-x86=thiscab
    FileVersion=1,00,0,1
    DestDir=11
    RegisterServer=yes

    ; needed dll
    [MyLib.dll]
    FileVersion=1,0,0,1
    file-win32-x86=thiscab
    DestDir=11

    It does work if I place the MyLib.dll into "C:\Windows\System32" so it probably has something to do with how I'm installing MyLib.dll but I'm not sure whats wrong.

    Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.
