SP2 and Win Server 2003 RRS feed

  • Question

  • From reading the SP2 download page it is my understanding that SQL Server 2005 SP2 is designed to run on Vista.

I already have the SQL 2005 server installed on a Windows Server 2003 SP2 machine.

What are the consequences updating the SQL Server 2005 server to SQL Server 2005 SP2?

    Thanks in advance,

  • Welcome to MSDN forums Smile

SQL Server 2005 SP2 fixes a list of bugs that were present in Sql 2005 RTM and SQl 2005 SP1. Its always advisable to use the latest service packs for any product as it fixes the bugs. Have a look at this KB which describes the list of bugs SP2 has fixed, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921896
