  • VS2015 Professional, as executing at VSSetupUtility.exe v12.0.23107.0 and SecondaryInstaller.exe v12.0.23107.178 , got the messages as below

    I recommend you could download ISO file of visual studio 2015 with update 3 from here.

    To verify the integrity of the ISO file, please use the FCIV.exe tool to check the SHA1 value of the ISO, the expected value comes from here, any discrepancy means the ISO is corrupted.

    After making sure the ISO is ok, you could use it to repair or reinstall visual studio 2015 with update 3.

    Meanwhile, please make sure you already followed the installation tips as below:

    1. Windows update already up-to-date

    2. Disable any anti-virus

    3. Run the installer as administrator.

    After this, if the issue persists, I need your help to collect the complete VS installation log. Please use http://aka.ms/vscollect to gather the installation logs. After using it, you will find vslogs.zip under %temp% folder. Please upload the file to https://onedrive.live.com/ and share the link here.

    Please downloaded vs14-kb3165756.exe file from manual download and installation.

    Then please go to Control Panel to repair all the Visual C++ Redistributables.

    >> it stop at the SecondaryInstaller.exe v12.0.23107.178

    Please go to path C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0\SecondaryInstaller, select the SecondaryInstaller.exe and execute it to see if it works normally.

    thanks for your reply.

    I write down my steps for trouble shooting.

    1. Check ISO file and follow the steps as Joyce said.
    2. Remove SD card.
    3. Download vs14-kb3165756.exe file from manual download and installation as Lana
        said, execute it and select repair.
    4. Run vs_professional.exe
     in ISO again, and select repair.
    5. Ignore following message at the end of the repair. The message in the picture is said
        that two of them has been installed in other versions.

    Sorry, I confuse the log.

    Before, it stop at the SecondaryInstaller.exe v12.0.23107.178 and show me the message "Error 0x80070424: Failed to open the current cluster" without ending.

    After removing my memory SD card, it went on.
    but encountering another Issue that  KB3165756 (Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 x86 Debug Runtime 14.0.24215) update fail. error code: 0x80070643.

    Following is my latest log for KB3165756 and some log name with"Decompression" still have the message 
     "Error 0x80070424: Failed to open the current cluster".
