Cannot use custom domain with Azure Storage

  • We are trying to use Azure's PowerShell commands to use a custom domain name with our blobs but it does not work. The Storage Account is a classic storage account in this case. We need to use classic ones due to problems present in the non-classic ones that we've ran into. We first associate the DNS records with the Storage Account in Azure but then when we try to use PowerShell to make the final connection, it fails with the following message:

    Set-AzureStorageAccount ` +          ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [<<==>>] Exception: ResourceNotFound: The Resource 'Microsoft.Storage/storageAccounts/mystorageaccount' under resource group 'my-resource-group' was not found.

             Set-AzureStorageAccount `
                 -ResourceGroupName $ResourceGroupName `
                 -Name $storageAccountName `
                 -CustomDomainName $theCustomDomain`
                 -UseSubDomain $True

    It does seem that we cannot use classic storage accounts by the way the resource is shown but again, there are problems with Storage Accounts that we have run into therefore we must have this working.
