Visual Studio 2010 does not close MSBuild RRS feed

  • Question

  • Quick question,

using Visual Studio 2010 from very little time, but i'm encountering a strange behaviour. When i compile a simple native c++ solution (1 executable + 1 lib), Visual studio open 2 MSBuild executable that does not close themselves when Visual Studio 2010 is even closed... (i'm on a 64 bit windows 7 machine)

Is this a known bug or what?

    Thanks

  • Hello,

MSBuild is used in VS2010 for C++ projects.  After build they remain in memory for 15 min to ensure warm start next time you build.  The msbuild.exe are safe to kill if you dont need them any more.  In the command line build you can add the /nr:false to avoid the remaining msbuild.exe.
