  • Question

  • Hello,

I embedded Bing Map on my site Initially it's all fine, but then the subject error message started to show on the map.

I have created and entered an API key to the widget, so I'm not sure why the message still ask me to sign up a free developer account. Also, interestingly such message only show on desktop web, when I browsed with mobile phone, I don't see such error message.

Look forward to some ideas from the community here.

  • You may have a space character at the front of your key or you have not entered the key correctly.  Please take a look at the source code samples here for more details. https://bingmapsv8samples.azurewebsites.net/#Set%20Map%20View

  • Hello,

I've double checked and confirmed the key is entered correctly, also no space before and after.

Any idea why the map on mobile web has no such error message but it only shows on desktop web?

  • Do you have a firewall or something else that might be changing the access level on the PC versus the mobile device?  You can email MapLic@Microsoft.com for presales and they can look at your account with you.
