Load DLL in Driver MFT failed.

    Question

  • I have a Driver MFT, and I need to load a external DLL for frame processing, when I put the DLL in the folder which my Driver MFT placed, the DLL can not be loaded. It seems that the main metro app does not have privilege to access the DLL file in the Driver MFT folder.

How to resolve this issue? I don't want to put my DLL into system32 folder.

  • Hello Vtshe,

I've discussed your issue with a number of engineers here at Microsoft. Unfortunately none of us know the answer. Drivers are handled a bit differently in the context of a WSA. It is possible that all you need to do is sign the external DLL properly to have it loaded into the WSA context.  Unfortunately you are treading on new territory. If code signing the external DLL doesn't work I would ask that you please open an incident with my team. We can help you debug the issue and do what we can to find a solution for you. To open up a support incident please go here: https://getsupport.microsoft.com/

    I hope this helps,

  • James, Thank you.

We have try your suggestion to digital-sign the external DLL, and it still can not be loaded in the MFT0.

  • Hi ytshe,

As James suggested, if you need more help with this please open a support incident at https://getsupport.microsoft.com . What you are doing is outside the scope of what we can help with in the forums.
