Microsoft Project 2010 automation without VS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I seek the way how to launch an mpp file in Microsoft Project 2010 from a script. I found the Microsoft Project Object Library reference is necessary. But I cannot make it in Visual studio. Could you suggest how to make the correct reference and to launch mpp file by a script? I tried this (there is no object reference in the script):

    Dim pjApp As Object
    Set pjApp = CreateObject("MSProject.Application")
    pjApp.Visible = True

  • Hi Fil,

    I think above code can not open the project application. Because it is opening application without any project.

    Even this code will not work if you replace "MSProject.application" with "excel.application"

    In Opening of excel also we need to create or open an existing work book.

    In a similar way we have to open a project in order to display the project application.

    I am also searching to open a project through VBA by connecting to the server.

    So I think first we should open application and then open a project then only you can see the project professional on screen.
