How to access Documents library folder from my windows store app?

    Question

  • Hi,

I want to read and create folders inside users documents folder.

I wanted to know how to access the Documents Library folder from my windows store app programmatically and without using file/folder pickers.

I have Visual Studio Professional 2013 Update 2 licensed version. Im unable to find Documents Library option in Package.appxmanifest.xml file.

Could you please let me know how I can get this option.

    Thanks

  • The (already restricted) Documents Library Capability was removed in Windows 8.1. You can still add it manually in the app manifest, but then the app will never be certified.

You find more info, and an alternative right here.
