Customization of List forms using Webpart RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have requirement in sharepoint which requires to customization of default list forms.

After some search I found that this can be done by creating webparts.

So, in my custom list,  I tried by customizing the NewForm.aspx by removing the default webpart (listformwebpart), and added my new webpart.

But here, I don't know how to handle my business logic which will be done similar to default list forms.

Example, in default list, after save button click data will be saved -> form will close -> and data will be displayed in the AllItems.aspx just like database records.

How can I replicate this flow in my webpart? If I add one 'OK' button, after cliking the OK button where and how do save the list data and how do I redirect to AllItems.aspx?

Also I think, in this case I need to create different webpart to change the all default forms ie, AllItems.aspx, DispForm.aspx, NewForm.aspx. Is that right?

Is so, where and how do I get the data to these forms.

Please let me know if anyone have any inputs and sample code.

    I am using sharepoint 2010.

    Thanks, Sharath
