Connect/disconnect to/from ActiveSync on Windows CE 6,0 RRS feed

  • Question

  • For connected device to PC:

    - Which processes I must kill on windows CE 6.0 to disconnect from ActiveSync on desktop computer? Or how carefully close connection on win ce 6.0 device?

    - And which processes I must then run to establich connection with ActiveSync on desktop computer? And with which parameters? Maybe repllog.exe or rnaapp.exe?

The Windows CE end of ActiveSync is repllog.exe. I believe the following command will
    stop/kill it
    repllog.exe /d

To restart the Windows CE end, you do, indeed, run repllog.exe

  • Thanks for answer BobZ2, but when I run "repllog.exe /d" then terminal is still connected.

And for creating connection I tried all combinations from http://www.itlisting.org/4-windows-ce-embedded/0d3e682487240bff.aspx  but without success.

Not sure what you mean by "run". When I said "repllog.exe" is the Windows CE end, I meant
it comes with Windows CE and runs under that operating system. In other words, it runs on
the handheld, not the "desktop". I use the CreateProcess function (Win32 API) to "run"
repllog.exe from a program running on the handheld.

I've never tried to control the connection from the "desktop" side, so I'm not sure what
executable is relevant. For Windows Mobile Device Center (Win 7 and Win Vista), it's
almost certainly one of the executables in \Windows\WindowsMobile. For ActiveSync (earlier
versions of Windows), it's probably one of the executables in \Program Files\Microsoft
    ActiveSync.

Unfortunately, when I couldn't read anything on that link.

But yes, I use CreateProcess function (Win32 API) to run repllog.exe from a program running on the handheld too (on Motorola MC2180)! But when I check the connection from desktop - terminal is still connected.

    I'm stumped.
(I haven't checked forums for a while; partly season and partly other distractions.)
