C# Swipe Gesture in ListBox RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm using the code I found here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/windowsappdev/archive/2012/07/02/modernizing-input-in-windows-8.aspx

This works ok (it's just way to slow) using only simple xaml structures like: <Page><Grid><Border><TextBlock>Swipe here</TextBlock></Border></Grid></Page>
By using the manipulationCompleted-Event I can calculate a swipe. Works ok for me.

But if I use a ListBox and wan't to get the gesture: <Page><Grid><ListBox>...</ListBox></Page> I don't get the manipulationCompleted Event, the events are lost somewhere.

Im using the example above because the simple ManipulationCompleted-Events do not work on a touch device, you will have to use the "pointer" Events.

  • It might sound stupid but why are you using ListBox instead of ListView. As far as I know, Listbox aren't very touch friendly.
