Create interactive 3d map RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I would like to create a WPF application for choosing a country.

At first, I would like the user to see a map of the world. once hovered with the mouse, each continent is being highlighted(using some animation), and once selected, i would like all other continents to disappear, and using animation bring the selected continent to the front and fill the whole screen with it, showing all thee countries in it.

Now repeat the same thing, only this time with countries.

Can you advice me where to start and which tools should i use?

    Best Regards,

  • What do you mean 3D :) ?

If you want to create world map you should start find some map on the white background  (boundaries) which one you can change to transparent color. Then all of this country you should have like a vector (ilustrator) which one you can import to Expression blend and use it like a diffrent object.

  • Animations can be done in Blend, but you need the 3D map, also every continent and every country has to be an object, so you can apply animations
