Quick question - Can an HCK package (hckx) be signed using a certificate... RRS feed

  • Question

  • Can an HCK package (hckx) be signed using a certificate file (cer or pfx) made my WDK's makecert utility? Or does it have to be a certificate file created by a service such as verisign?

  • While there are multiple formats for the certs that the package can be signed with, the reason you would sign a package is to make a submission.  The purpose of the cert is to validate the company that is making the submissions.  For that reason, you would need to use a VeriSign cert.

  • Thanks for the reply Dilesh. Just making some preparations just in case our driver has passed all the HCK tests.
