How to change text on status bar in Outlook 2010? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I know there're a lot of samples for writing text to status bar for Outlook 2010. But the control tree seems like changed in 2010 so some classes like msctls_statusbar32 is no longer exist. I looked into Spy++ and found the tree hirechy is like:

    "MsoDockBottom" MsoCommandBarDock

      "Status Bar" MsoCommandBar

         "Status Bar" MsoWorkPane

               "" NUIPane

                   "" NetUIHWND

Where and how can I update the status bar text in Outlook 2010? Thanks!

  • MS keeps changing the controls all the time, so it looks like it is no longer a common Windows control.

Modifying the status bar was never supported before, so I don't think you will have any luck.
