Project Template Missing from VS2012 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have VS2012 Premium installed.  I didn't install C++, Silverlight, or Lightswitch.  I'm missing the project template for WCF Data Service.  When looking for installed templates as mentioned in this thread, I don't see an "ItemTemplates" directory at all (though I do have lots of project templates in VS).

    What am I missing?

  • WCF Data Services has an item template for Web projects. It is not a project template. If you create a new web project (like "ASP.NET Web Application"), then click "Add New Item", you should see a "WCF Data Service (for OData V3)" template in the list (for both C# and VB).

Does following folder does not exist? Note that there may be things in both Program Files and Program Files (x86) depending on your system!

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\ItemTemplates\CSharp\Web\1033\WcfDataServiceWap5.0.zip

  • OK, I thought it was a project, but it's an item.  I do have it as an item; thank you.
