  • Is there a way to deny access to the slide master in power point?

    Maybe by using/writing an addin or ...?

    I hope someone can help me?

  • Hi Tobias,

    Thanks for posting in the MSDN Forum.

    Would you please clarify the mean of “slide Master”? Is it a kind of component of PowerPoint?

    Have a good day,

    Tom

  • Thanks for your reply.

    I mean the "standard" master. Where you can define layout templates.

    In the ribbonmenu there is the button to open the masterview.

    In german it is called "Folienmaster" and in english I think it is "Slide Master".

  • Did you miss a link or something like this? I Don't understand your answer.

    Where is the difficulty in understanding my question?
    I have a PowerPoint Template (*.potx) and an Add-In with some features for this template. Now I don't want the users of the Template to start the slide master. So I want to know if there is any possibility to deny access to the slide master (slide master view) for users using the *.potx?

  • Hi Tom,

    sorry but firefox does not show the image. In IE8 it works.

    No I don't mean this one. In the "Views"-Ribbon there is a button left of "handout master".
    This is the button I want to disable.

  • Hi Tobias,

    It’s based on my research that is the only way to handle your issue via hidden “Master Views” group.

    If you want to do that, please add the snippet into you ribbon xml.

    <tab idMso="TabView">

            <group idMso="GroupMasterViews" visible="false">

            </group>

    </tab>

    I hope it helps.

    Have a good day,

    Tom
