Styled menus or button lists RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

many applications have navigation menus like the one shown in the screenshot below (from the banking program StarMoney).

These menus allow a nice grouping of tasks in sections. Each section contains one or more clickable items. Sometimes the items are implemented as buttons, somtimes as "hyperlinks". Often the sections are collapsable by clicking on the header or a small triangle contained in the header.

How could I create such menus on my main window in WPF? Especially with rounded corners and gradient backgrounds and optionally drop shadows or bevelled effects.

Is there actually a name for this sort of controls? (I didn't even know what to google for.)

Thanks for any idea or link/tutorial.

  • Hi,

You can use Treeview, Accordian, Menu controls to design that kind of layout.

Change templates, add triggers to fill the layout.

Check out below link, not the exact you want, but can guide you.
