The type or namespace name 'AdviseParentEventArgs' could not be found C# .Net Framework 4.5.2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to implement an AdviseParentEventArgs event but I am coming up with the error: The type or namespace name 'AdviseParentEventArgs' could not be found

    These are the libraries I am currently using:

    using System;
    using System.Collections.Generic;
    using System.ComponentModel;
    using System.Data;
    using System.Drawing;
    using System.Linq;
    using System.Text;
    using System.Threading.Tasks;
    using System.Windows.Forms;
    using System.Data.SqlClient;
    using System.Collections;
    using System.Net.Http;
    using System.IO;
    using System.Net;

    I am using .NET framework 4.5.2. Is my version too new for this event? I ask because I see forum posts from around 2010 using this but nothing newer than 2012.

    Alternatives, workarounds, and/or solutions?

  • It's not from Microsoft, see the following and do a find for AdviseParentEventArgs.

    No, it's not too new. Or too old. 'AdviseParentEventArgs' has never existed in any version of the Framework. If you are copying a code sample from somewhere else, then that "somewhere else" must have defined AdviseParentEventArgs elsewhere in the program, or by referencing  a third-party library that defined it.
