  • Question

  • How is the centre of gravity calculated - I mean what data is used for calculating it? Is it the depth or the skeletal data and how reliable is the value?

    Thanks,

  • The gravity vector is not populated so it is no accurate at all. If you need a down vector then you need to use the floor clipping plane. That's calculated off the depth. How it's calculated is not documented, but a reasonable assumption is a least squares fit of a point cloud to a plane. Assuming that is the case then the accuracy is limited by the accuracy of the Kinect, how correctly it identifies pixels belonging to the floor, how much of the floor is visible and where those segments lie relative to the device.
