Access to "non-apps" through Start? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi. I just started using Windows Developer Preview. From the beginning, I encountered an important question: Where users can find "non-apps" (I mean applications not in metro style and not placed in Start) in Windows?

Previously accessories like paint and notepad where included in Start menu. Starting with Windows 7, I learned that I can reach those programs fast by entering their name in Start menu. Seems that this feature is available in Win8 too (I found Character Map by entering its name). However, many users, as I've seen, use the Start Menu itself to find programs and not by entering their name. Is there any way to open programs without entering their names?
