Windows 8 eval update, what is best choice to code for Windows 8 ( RT, x86, x64 ) and Windows Server 2012? RRS feed

  • Hi,

I could run an existing Windows XP/7  app  on Windows 8 by setting compatibility option to XP Pro. It was easy.

Is VS 2012 only tool you want to develop the apps (all form factors )  for all platforms? What are all choices from Microsoft perspective?

I heard it comes with series of device emulators. Is that enough? Do we have to be dependent on 3rd party device makers?

How can we take Android apps ( written in Java )  and move to Windows with least pain? What is MSFT recommendation?

Is there way to do so for Apple  iOS apps written in Objective-c?
