Indexing Service on Windows Server 2008 R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

My company has a legacy vb.net application hosted on Windows Server 2003. The application makes use of Indexing Service to search for the documents/files(.pdf, .doc, .docx). After migrating the same application to Windows Server 2008 R2, the application successfully searches and lists all the .pdf, .doc files except that it is unable to fetch the "DocTitle" attribute for just the .pdf files. Searching the files based on its title("DocTitle") turns out to be very important as the user relies on it.

I have tried installing Adobe PDF IFilter but in vain.

Any help on this issue would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance
