hevcdecoder_store.dll cannot be loaded because it is signed incorrectly (0xc0000428) RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Since the Windows 10 1709 update released yesterday, native HEVC decoding is non-functional because the aforementioned file (hevcdecoder_store.dll) appears to be incorrectly signed and Windows refuses to load it with error code 0xc0000428. This can be reproduced in Windows Media Player or any Media Foundation program. Virustotal.com shows a signature issue too: https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/bf3498115ef3bd97f0f7dda28d1d7ec36089c58924007d5954cf67a973e54aea/details

Simply accessing the digital signatures in the file properties of the file shows the same problem ( https://i.imgur.com/52uMYPy.png ).
