Windows Smartcard Login via RDP from PC outside the domain RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good day all

I am trying to implement the following task:

We are running a VDI farm, which the users access via RDP and Remote Desktop Gateway. However, the end devices from which the users access are private devices and not registered in the company domain. This works fine so far by logging in with username and password.

Now the security should be increased and the logon should be realized via smartcard (in our case Yubikey).

But now the necessary certificates are missing on the end devices. This is shown by the following message:

No Valid Certificates Were Found on This Smart Card

<Unfortunately my account still hasn't been verified so I can't share any pictures or links here....>

I have manually transferred the CA certificates from a domain computer to the private one.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

    Thank you and best regards
