Store credential for impersonation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a question about a "best practice" to handle this problem. I want to enable the user to enter a username and a password in order to run special parts of my application with impersonation. In order to enter this credential only one time (e.g. in the preferences or something similiar) I have to store the entered credential in a secure place.

So what is the best way to achieve this?

I know other parts of windows can handle this too, for example "schedule tasks" or "services" there you can enter a credential and later on the process starts with this credential.

    Any suggestions,

    Thanks,
    Franz
