Start menu doesn't load properly with FSLogix RRS feed

  • Hello,

    I have a very annoying issue with FSLogix enabled on my RDS (Windows Server 2019 fresh install, no apps). At the first user connection (creating profile), the start menu works correctly but after the next logon the start menu is "broken" :

    Titles no longer appear and don't start applications... It's the default start menu from Windows Server 2019.

    If I restart explorer.exe the start menu works again. But same issue at next logon.

    This issue only appear with AD users and FSLogix - Users excluded from FSLogix don't have the problem.

    Have you an idea ? :-)

    This looks like the work of a specific group policy setting :)

    In User Configuration/Administrative Templates/Start Menu and Taskbar check to see if "Remove common program groups from Start Menu" is enabled.

  • Do you have exclusions configured in your FSLogix configuration (redirection)?

    Are you redirecting the start menu? If so you shouldn't.

  • I have the exact problem. Restarting explorer.exe fixes the start menu for me.

    Did you find the root cause?

    I haven't made any redirection of the start menu what I know of and no exclusions I can relate to the Start menu.
