Iphone like scroll list (CoolIris) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I would to have a "scroll list" similar to that of the iphone.

That is, no scroll bar, just use mouse down and drag to do the scrolling. Mouse Click on an image would then select the item.

Items content should be Images, Text, or any other ContentTemplate.

Yes, I realize that there are slightly different ergonomics with an Iphone. But look at CoolIrirs www.cooliris.com

and see how it does a scrolling image list. That would be the effect I would like on the workstation.

  • If you want a completely different look ( like the effect of cooliris ), you can write a user control.

  • Listen to the Drag (or MouseLeftButtonDown and MouseMove) events and do your maths to apply in ScrollViewer.ScrollToVerticalOffset(double)

  • And if I want a completely different look? That is with no scroll bar at all?

And if I want UseSprings (like the DeepZoom MSI control?)

I guess you are saying one has to do this from scratch. So then what would the point of having the scrollBar control at all? Why not write it from scratch?
