Writing simulator for digital device for Dual-way communication RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I want to create a simulator (as electronic device) which will communicate with server. It will be a dual communication in which both server and electronic device communicate to execute certain functions. I'm not sure what would be the right path to start with. Can anyone please help me to start with the complete process.

    Thanks in Advance!

  • A digital device is a SERVER application.  So you want to create your own Server by opening a TCP listener to connect with your TCP Client. A TCP connection to bidirectional so a Client and Listener can both send and receive.

A client sends commands to a server, the server processes the commands and sends a response.  You will start the server application first.  The Server will connect to and end point IPAddressAny using a port number.  The client will connect to the IP address of the Server using the same port number.  If the client is on the same PC as the server the client can use either the IP address of the computer (or computer name) or LocalHost.
