What's the difference between the 'CPU Sampling by Process' and 'CPU Usage by Process' graphs in the xperf viewer? RRS feed

  • Question

  • The values are tracking very closely, however the 'CPU Sampling by Process' appears to be less fine grained in it's data. I can't find anything in the documentation to differentiate these two.

  • Surprised that with so many views that nobody has offered an answer here. The performance toolkit is one of the most poorly and confusingly documented areas of the Windows SDK. Is there anyone either within Microsoft or outside of it that can shed some light on this question?
