"Owner privilege" error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    I am having an issue with applying the DIFF tool that would upgrade our current Win XPE from SP2 to SP3.

    Applying the script locally manually works fine.

    However, when being pushed via SMS, the following error show:

    [2012/12/14-02:03:20.641] [ERROR]   <idafiles::EndContext>: (19) Failed setting owner privilege ...

    [2012/12/14-02:03:20.641] [ERROR]   <DiffXmlLoad::LoadUpdates>: (19) Failed executing pExecNode->pEndContext for context RegistrySpecifier: ...
    [2012/12/14-02:03:20.641] [ERROR]   <Executor>: (16389) Failed loading DiffXmlLoad object ...

    Can someone please point me to a cause for this error for further investigation. Thanks in advance.

  • It has been a long time since I used SMS. What account is the SMS client running in when the update is deployed?

  • Hi Sean,

    I will get that answer to you soon. As I am not entirely sure.

    However, I can't seem to find any info on this error message, although it points to a permissions error:

    <idafiles::EndContext>: (19) Failed setting owner privilege ...
