Outlook 2010 Email Address Bug? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to read email addresses from the current compose window.  It seems that when Outlook formats an email with < and > around it, mailItem. To completely ignores the email.

    To: SDASDFASDF <asdfsd@asdf.com>; asdfasdf asdfasdf (asdfasdf@sdf2.com); asdfasf 3332 (32332@sdf.com)

*note the first email is formated with < >

    mailItem.To =

    SDASDFASDF; asdfasdf asdfasdf (asdfasdf@sdf2.com); asdfasf 3332 (32332@sdf.com)

*note how the <asdfsd@asdf.com> is gone.

What can I do about this?

  • Hi Itaknocrud,

Thanks for posting in the MSDN Forum.

The address with “<” and “>” around is the contact item which isn’t on your own computer, it is a Microsoft Exchange Mailbox User. When you add it to you own computer it will become around with “(“ and “)”, and you will can get the name such as “xxx(xx@xxx.xx)”.

If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know.

    Have a great day,

    Tom Xu
