Is there any sample code for the side bar in the Metro UI?

    Question

  • Hi,

I am just wondering is there any sample code for the sidebar for the Metro UI? The 'sidebar' I am referring to is the one that you shows up when you need to wifi or input method or other kinds of settings?

I am interested in how it is implemented.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Louis,

Are you talking about the Settings Charm?

  • Thank you, Jeff! That is what I am looking for!

I also read some other post about "setting charm" in this forum.

Is it true that we can't define our own charm? For example, I would like to make the charm to display a calendar or my note record. It it possible?

    Thanks,

  • You are welcome Louis!

You cannot create your own Charm.  Those a defined for the system and Metro Style apps cannot affect the system (by design).  You can put items on your settings flyout though!
