Developing Device Driver for Windows Mobile 6 - 6.1 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear All,

We want to develop a device driver for a new SDIO device on Windows Mobile 6 or 6.1 , but we are not quite sure about which  development platform we should use. I know that Windows Mobile 6 is based on Windows CE 5.0, so can we use
Windows CE 5.0 Platform builder to develop our device driver? What about Windows CE 6.0 platform builder?( i know that there are some big differences between v5 and v6). Does windows mobile have its own platform builder?

    Regards,
    Amin

  • Hi Amin,

Yes, windows mobile has its own platform builder. But that is for OEM, not public. We doesn't support it on the forum, if you are a OEM developer, please contact microsoft.

  • Dear Guang-Ming ,

You mean that even developing device drivers for windows mobile requires only  windows mobile platform builder. We can not use CE Platform builders to develop drivers?

    Thanks in advance.
