Kinect fusion - 3d object reconstruction using static camera RRS feed

  • I would like to know whether Kinect fusion example can generate 3d models on a rotating table using static camera position.

  • So long as there is a difference in perspectives between the camera and the scene then KinectFusion should be able to fuse the depth maps into a single volume. Remembering that you cannot move it too quickly, of course.

  • This should work fine. To get the best results I would recommend setting the min and max distances so that the only objects in range of depths considered rotate with the table. As Phil mentioned don't go to fast and you should get a pretty good model!
