I can't install any .netframworks past 3.5. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've tried over and over and keep getting the same error from the installation process with .net Framwork 4.0 and 4.5. I've tried to run Windows updates to install them but I get an error there too. I've ran the "Collect.exe" program to collect the logs. And I've uploaded them to skydrive/outlook.com. Here is the logs, https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=64AAB9FB78E082C3%21119   I need someones helps, I've tried about everything besides reformatting and I'm not wanting to do that.

  • Hi xBluRR,

As pvdg42 mentioned, the error info in your logs is:

    Type:ERROR
Strings (7):[Product: Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 -- Error 997. Overlapped I/O operation is in progress.

And then I searched for detailed .NET install logs and find the following:

MSI (s) (44!24) [19:55:49:834]: SECREPAIR: Crypt Provider not initialized. Error:997
MSI (s) (44!24) [19:55:49:834]: SECUREREPAIR: Failed to CreateContentHash of the file: 1033\SetupResources.dll: for computing its hash. Error: 997
MSI (s) (44!24) [19:55:49:835]: SECREPAIR: Failed to create hash for the install source files

As a result, please have a look at the following blog:
